Company in Huntersville, NC is looking for a Technical Support Specialist to join their team. This person will serve as the regional contact for system and process issues, act as the liaison to MIS, offer system enhancement suggestions, address issues, and facilitate forward thinking.
Responsibilities:
Leadership skills required to lead and facilitate teams as well as participants.
Technical ability to set up and maintain hardware and software systems
Ability to problem solve system and process issues
Create and maintain documentation of systems and processes
Train employees on new and existing systems when required
Ability to work with computer vendors to maintain hardware and resolve problems
Participate and make recommendations for initial program designs
Make sure daily backup tapes are generated and stored properly
Make sure maintenance is performed on all PCs. Including Scan Disk and Defragmenter
Process all PC hardware and software purchases
Determine required specifications, obtain pricing, assist manager with AFE generation, process PO, receive, etc.
Set up new PCs upon arrival for the appropriate user
Network access, email, load and configure all necessary software etc.
Modify existing PC configuration if it is passed to a new user
Provide first level support for all hardware and software systems including replacement.
Hardware: Monitor, keyboard, mouse, hard drive, floppy drive, CD-ROM, video card, modem, network card, motherboard, power supply, etc.
Software: Windows, Office, Exchange, SMS, Virus Scan, AWC Systems, etc.
Train users to more effectively utilize the above hardware and software
Help with set up and implementation of Query database
Work with team in developing and implementing new or modified systems and procedures to utilize technology efficiently
Help create complex spreadsheets, databases, Power Point presentations, etc
Support and maintain the phone and voice messaging systems
Assist MIS software upgrades. For example: the transition to Office 2000 and later Windows 2000
Monitor Software licenses to assure that all required licenses have been purchased
Coordinate with subcontractors on all wiring necessities ( Phone and network )
Provide regular user level training in general computer use as well as application specific
Assist MIS in communications troubleshooting including data lines, routers, hubs, and servers
Act as a liaison between users and MIS regarding new needed tools and task request formulation
Top 3-5 must have skills:
Ability to view both the operational and technical sides of a problem
Operational experience in an office environment
Successful track record of project management and team experience
Knowledge of Windows 95/98, Office 97 ( including Access ); Visual Basic, SQL Server, and Client Server a plus
Ability to listen and communicate effectively from hourly management levels in an effort to carry out responsibilities or respond to common inquiries.
Ability to apply advanced mathematical skills like basic logic functions such as if-then-else statements and tasks such as statistical and financial math calculations
Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions

Degree Requirement: 2 year degree in business or computer sciences, information systems, or equivalent job experience.
Estimated Salary: $20 to $28 per hour based on qualifications.

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
