We currently have an opportunity for an Environmental Health & Safety Specialist to join our team located in Huntersville, NC.
Your Role:

As an Environmental Health & Safety Specialist, you will be responsible for championing, designing, developing, and implementing safety improvement projects to reduce risk. The EH&S Specialist will maintain updated OSHA and EPA required written programs and develop/conduct training as necessary under the direction of the EHS Manager as well as maintaining and expanding a solid foundation of Environmental Health and Safety excellence. You will have the opportunity to:

  • Develop, update, and deploy ES&H procedures and training programs to reduce risk and maintain compliance with regulatory and corporate requirements.
  • Assist with Management System development to assign, track, and verify EHS responsibilities and integrate them into the overall business operation.
  • Manage and maintain environmental compliance for CERCLA/SARA, air quality (CAA), waste (RCRA), stormwater (SWPPP), and wastewater programs (CWA).
  • Sponsor site safety committees and other ES&H related project teams.
  • Perform root cause analysis of environmental and safety incidents.
  • Demonstrate experience in process improvement, problem-solving, and root-cause analysis.
  • Assist with engineering design reviews and contractor pre-job plans.

Ultimately, you will develop and deploy policies, procedures, and programs to support best-practices and identify best-practices with the Reynolds's system to help the Environmental Health and Safety Manager guide the employees. We need you to have:

  • BA/BS degree in Environmental, Health, Safety, or a related field.
  • 3-5 years of EHS experience in a manufacturing plant.
  • Excellent capabilities in Microsoft Office, including Excel.
  • Proficient in EHS software and other platforms.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including presentation skills.
  • Must be team oriented with the ability to work on high collaboration and performance teams.
  • Strong project management and organization skills.
  • Available to work flexible shifts including days, nights, and/or weekends.

Icing on the cake:

  • Environmental Health and Safety certifications such as GSP, ASP, CSP, OHST, CHMM.
  • Lean six Sigma experience.
